Museum Five Continents, situated between the Isar River and Old Town, is home to a sizable collection of items from outside of Europe, and the collection is constantly expanding. The regions of Africa, Australia, North America, Central and South America, the Orient, Eastern and Central Asia, South and South-East Asia, and Oceania are all featured in the 160,000+ exhibits. Among the exhibits are items from Hindu and Buddhist culture, beadwork from southern Africa, screen prints by Indian painters, and priceless Inca gold artifacts. The museum's "Manuscripts and Writing" collection houses a wide variety of documents from its ethnological collections.
